Honeymoon Idea #2

Next up on the destination list is somewhere I've been wanting to go for a million years: Howard Finster's Paradise Gardens in Summerville, Georgia
Bike repairman.  Artist.  Teenage preacher.  Howard Finster was a lot of things but, before any of any of that, he was a man of visions.  In fact, at the age of three, Howard's dead sister strolled out of the sky and told him so.  It was these visions which lead him to create Paradise Gardens. As the story goes, he was working on a bike and got some paint on his hands.  Looking down, he saw that the paint on his fingertip formed a face and that face told him, "Paint sacred art."  And, because one should never ignore a paint face on their hand, he began painting in 1961. The gardens still stand today and are open to the public.  And I'm kinda kicking myself (just a little) because I just noticed that they do free weddings.  Something to think about if you're looking for an awesome location...
